Our Work

Investing in the People Building Africa's Digital Future

Creating spaces for builders, researchers, and emerging leaders to grow, connect, and thrive — while closing the gaps that keep too many talented people on the margins.

The Talent Pillar

People Are the Foundation

Africa's digital future depends on the people building it. Through our Talent pillar, we invest directly in the individuals and communities shaping the continent's AI and digital ecosystem.

We create spaces for builders, researchers, and emerging leaders to grow, connect, and thrive — while working deliberately to close the gaps that keep too many talented people, especially women, on the margins of this industry.

Ecosystem Platform

Community & Innovation

Qubit Hub

Qubit Hub is our ecosystem and community platform, built to support innovation, collaboration, and capability-building across Africa's digital and AI landscape.

Here, builders, researchers, institutions, and emerging talent come together to exchange ideas, experiment boldly, and grow an ecosystem built to last — not just for today's breakthroughs, but for the next generation of African innovation.

Women in AI

Fellowship Programme

IDIA Fellowship

The IDIA Fellowship addresses the gender gap in African AI research — fostering a pipeline of women researchers and practitioners who are shaping the future of AI on the continent.

The programme develops artificial intelligence in ways that are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to local African contexts — particularly for women who face structural barriers to accessing resources and information.

  • Inclusive & Equitable Design

Building systems that work for the communities too often left out of AI development.

  • Removing Structural Barriers

Providing resources, networks, and platforms that open doors for women in AI.

  • Pan-African Network

Connecting fellows across the continent to build lasting research communities.

Evidence Base

AI Talent Readiness Index 2025

The AI Talent Readiness Index is an evidence base assessing AI talent readiness across all 54 African countries — led entirely by African expertise.

It gives policymakers, institutions, and partners a clear, evidence-based picture of digital skills, infrastructure readiness, and government preparedness — insight that didn't exist at this scale before, and that we believe is essential for Africa to shape its own AI future, on its own terms.
