Qhala Trust was established in 2021 as the non-profit arm of Qhala Limited, a technology firm founded in Nairobi. Where Qhala Limited works with commercial partners, Qhala Trust focuses on the public interest — ensuring that Africa's digital transformation is equitable, inclusive, and African-led.
We operate across four interconnected pillars: Research & Policy, Convenings, Build, and Talent. Together, they form a complete system — from insight to policy, from policy to infrastructure, from infrastructure to the people who use and shape it.
Our goal is ambitious but precise: connect 100 million Africans to digital tools by 2030 — not as passive recipients of imported technology, but as active creators and shapers of Africa's digital ecosystem.
