Africa’s tech landscape is vibrant, driven by key emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning and cybersecurity, which are reshaping industries and revolutionizing products and services across different sectors. This growth highlights the urgent need for a skills development program to equip the workforce with relevant digital capabilities.

In a world where artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming every aspect of our lives, from healthcare and education to transportation and governance, policymakers must grasp the fundamental concepts, opportunities, and challenges this groundbreaking technology presents. A strong focus on AI skills development, alongside frameworks for ethical AI and strategies for regulating AI, is essential to ensure responsible and inclusive progress.
Across Africa, millions lack access to quality healthcare due to various challenges, hindering the creation of inclusive healthcare systems. Limited resources, infrastructure gaps, and a shortage of skilled professionals contribute significantly to this critical issue. To address this, RHIPFactory Venture Studio—a healthcare innovation hub—teamed up with Qhala to launch the BuildHealth4 Africa Hackathon, promoting solutions that support digital infrastructure growth.
